Sonomark device receives FDA approval.
DELTA, CO - August 18, 2006 – Theron E. Johnson, CEO & President of MPM, Inc. announced today that MPM has received FDA 510(k) approval to market the Sonomark skin marking device. The Sonomark device is an accessory to linear ultrasound transducers and is used to mark the skin during diagnostic ultrasound exams.
The Sonomark device was invented and patented by a vascular technologist to provide a better way to mark the location of underlying anatomy during noninvasive diagnostic ultrasound procedures such as vein mapping. Eight years in the making, the Sonomark device attaches easily to virtually any linear transducer and allows technologists to quickly and precisely mark while keeping their eyes on the ultrasound image and the transducer on the patient.
MPM, Inc., a new corporation located in Delta, CO, is focused on providing health care providers with novel products that improve efficiency, accuracy and outcomes.

If you were unable to attend the SDMS and would like to receive a sample of the Sonomark device, please click here. Special thanks to Acuson for lending us their transducers to demonstrate the Sonomark device.
